AWAKETH - 3rd demo - CS

SIGNAL REX is proud to present AWAKETH’s 3rd Demo on cassette tape format.
Formed in 2019 by black/death metal activists of the Spanish underground, AWAKETH is an entity formed against nowadays black metal's relativism and open-minded "scene." Inspired by the activism of the '90s Nordic tradition, the Teutonic black metal fury, and the corrupted Les Légions Noires, AWAKETH open wounds again, going to the core, without artifice. Just black metal in its purest and dirtiest integrity, Luziferian activism through distorted sonority against black metal's democratization: NOT EVERYTHING GOES.

Alas, it’s been five years since AWAKETH last released a recording – two of them, in fact, with the band’s respective demos on In Pulverem Mortis and Tour de Garde – and now they align with SIGNAL REX again to spit forth their third disgust. Aptly titled 3rd Demo, thankfully no great changes have been made to their atavistic aesthetic. But if distinctions must be drawn, it’s fair to say that AWAKETH have somehow become simultaneously more violent and experimental: the black metal slices and saws in a manner most Kathartic while deep-space ambient touches seep through its rusty edges. 3rd Demo thus walks the path of the past onward into verdant landscapes of delirium and malodorousness.
